State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is one of the universities that Bjørknes Univeristy College cooperates with. As part of this academic cooperation, two staff members of SUZA were invited to take part in the Tropical Medicine Course organized by Bjørknes University College in collaboration with the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) and Tanga International Competence Centre (TICC) in Tanga, Tanzania.
The course is designed for medical doctors, nurses or professionals with health background and combines both theoretical and practical training about tropical diseases and health conditions in the tropics. Aysha and Fat-hyia from SUZA were among the 20 participants of the second course arranged this year. Aysha is working as a nursing officer and Fat-hyia is a paediatrician at Mnazi Moja hospital apart from being a lecturer at SUZA. They were happy to be able to join the course and share their experiences with the rest of the group. “I am glad to be one among the participants of the Tropical Medic ine Course held at TICC. The course is very useful for my career as well as our University SUZA. I really appreciate it!” said Aysha.
